Create the key
- Go to console.anthropic.com and create an account.
- Open Billing and add credit. The API is prepaid and billed by usage.
- Open API keys and click Create key. Copy it; it starts with
sk-ant-.
Claude Pro is not the API
A Claude Pro or Max subscription covers the Claude apps. API usage is a separate account with separate billing. Nubi needs the API key.
Connect it to Nubi
Open Connections, paste the key and click Detect and connect. With automatic routing on, Nubi puts Claude first for desktop tasks because it is careful with clicks and typing.
Keep costs low
- Set a monthly limit in the Anthropic Console.
- Use Nubi’s balanced spending mode so simple chat goes to cheaper models.
- Close unrelated windows before a desktop task; smaller, clearer screens mean fewer steps.
