Create the key
- Go to openrouter.ai and sign in.
- Open Keys in your account settings and click Create key.
- Give it a name such as “Nubi”. You can set a credit limit so the key can never spend more than you want.
- Copy the key. It starts with
sk-or-.
Free and paid models
Models whose name ends in :free cost nothing but have tight rate limits and can be busy. For desktop control, choose a model that understands images, because Nubi sends screenshots. Adding a small amount of credit gives you access to stronger models and higher limits.
Connect it to Nubi
- In Nubi, open Connections, paste the key and click Detect and connect.
- Leave Let Nubi choose the model on. Nubi prefers models that can see the screen and skips ones that fail.
- In Connections you can pick a spending mode: free only, balanced or quality first.
